The former picture was an important image on several pages concerning books the character appeared in. Would you please restore it? Jkelly 04:22, 27 April 2006 (UTC) While I understand that the matter can be confusing, a Fair use defense upon use, not upon crediting the copyright holder. Decorating lists with unfree-copyrighted images is something we, as an attempt to create a free, reusable encyclopedia have chosen not to do. Wikipedia:Fair use should explain most questions you have about media not under a free, reusable license. Note also that Wikipedia does not appropriate everything that it can get away with. Avoiding copyright paranoia is about worries over being sued, not about our goal of reusability. Thanks. The Republican 01:23, 28 April 2006 (UTC) Someone else has pointed out that another list uses screenshots to depict notable characters from each show, with a detailed Fair use rationale, and that we seem to think that's okay. I'm personally surprised by that, but I assure you that if you add a full rationale for each screenshot to be added to the list, I won't remove them summarily until the issue is revisted by the wider community. What if the Counter-Vandalism Unit elected Generals, and after getting much bigger, Lieutenants, Sergeants, etc. But a General would send a code through the levels, like 45.m.K would be "hit random article and look for vandalism". or 86.p.2 would be "fall back and quit searching like a wild maniac".
